NC Architecture was commissioned to design a modern apartment block at the vacant Piccadilly site in Stockport. The site is sloping and the Client’s brief was developed to make the most efficient use of the site, by setting the ground floor at the highest part of the site, with some basement parking accessed from the lower side of the site.
The design enabled the amount of excavation for the basement car park to be minimised. As the lower level car park extended across the whole site, at ground floor, the flat roof would be transformed to act as communal amenity space.

The apartment block offers a total mix of 143 one bed and two bed apartments over 11 floors.

Vertical access is via a central core. The materials chosen for the external finishes is a mixture of high-spec cladding panels and bold colours, to give it the visual edge in the wider Stockport area.
