Large overhanging eaves on the main façade, provide solar and rain protection to the projecting balconies, which are clad in aluminium with glass balustrade, to give an element of transparency to the front façade, consequently reducing the impact of the building mass within the immediate surroundings. To help the proposal sit within its context, the material pallet has taken reference from the architecture in the surrounding area. Render is used as the primary finish material, which reflects the tone of the adjacent architecture. Welsh blue slate on the ground floor level, references natural local materials in the area.
