Six contemporary mews houses in West Malling, Kent, are set within the grounds of a Grade II Listed building, which provided the backdrop for our careful consideration of the design and choice of materials. We worked closely with the Planners and Conservation Officer at Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, to inform this. The houses are designed to be a contemporary version of the traditional semi-rural Kentish cottage, with black timber and traditional Kentish ragstone. These are to be high-quality two bed houses, sitting within a highly desirable and historic market town.
