A sensitively designed luxury home, following the aesthetic principles set out within the surrounding Conservation Area.

This project involved the demolition of an existing house and garage, to design and construct a contemporary, but characterfu,l two-storey detached luxury home. The property sits in one of three sub-divided plots off Dunham Road and within the Devisdale Conservation Area. The principle behind the design was to create a ‘main house’, two storey element, with an ancillary annex in the form of a garage, with secondary accommodation above and swimming pool. This ensured the aesthetic was not overbearing.

The character of the design drew inspiration from the older Villa-style houses within Bowdon. Our contemporary interpretation of these period architectural details and incorporation of reclaimed and local materials, provided a fresh take on the local period style, whilst ensuring continuity in appearance with the surroundings. The juxtaposition of gables and steeply pitched slate roofs, the mixture of buff yellow / red brick and natural stone, the traditional sash and casement windows, concurrently create visual stimulation and character. This stunning luxurious home includes a Leisure Suite to the rear, overlooking a beautiful mature and spacious garden.
